WGI RULE CHANGES
1. The Equipment and Movement score sheets for the Regional A and A classes will NO LONGER be on a 70/130 split. The Regional A Class and A Class sheets for the downstairs captions will now be on an even split awarding up to 100 points for vocabulary and 100 points for excellence. However, the vocabulary number and excellence number will still be weighted on a 70/130 split. The computation will take place in the tabulation.
2. The sheets for Independent World Class will differ slightly from the Scholastic World Class sheet in the downstairs captions. The Independent World Class sheet has added the term “Difficulty and risk” to the front of the downstairs sheets as a consideration when arriving at your vocabulary number. This change is being implemented because of the difference in development and maturity levels between high school age performers in the Scholastic World Class and the older performers in the Independent World Class.
3. The announcement format will change this year. When the color guard first enters the competition area an announcement of… “Please welcome from (city, state, country), (name of color guard)” will be made. At one minute thirty seconds (1:30) of the interval time for Open and A Classes, two minutes (2:00) for the World Class or at any specific time noted to the Timing and Penalty judge by the color guard, the announcer will be cued to say “Performing their program (title), WGI Sport of the Arts (or in our Case MAIN) is proud to present (name of color guard.
